The Space Needle is a symbol of Seattle and the American Northwest. When the tower was erected back in 1962 for the World’s Fair, it was the tallest building standing west of the Mississipi River. The observation deck provides panoramic views from a height of 160┬ámeters. The elevator travels at a speed of 10 miles per hour, and takes a total of 41 seconds to travel from the ground up. Regular admission to the Space Needle is $19 USD. And for those interested in a choice dinner with stunning views of the city below, there is also the option of enjoying a meal atop the Space Needle’s restaurant.
